Day 127: Planing boards for the kitchen cabinet build. And fertilizing the grass at the same time.
Day 128: the
beginnings of the kitchen. The kitchen
cabinet bases will support the cabinets and provide channels for plumbing,
wiring, etc.
Day 133: Cabinet face frame painted and installed.
Day 141: Tabletop finished and installed on the Lagun swivel stand. This thing swings and bends all over the living room and kitchen.
The Lagun table swings around the living room right into the kitchen.
Day 157: And then the
roof rack arrived. Thanks to Flatline Van Company for offering a super roof rack at a more than reasonable price. This thing is made of 80/20 extruded aluminum bars to make it extremely light weight and strong.
The van roof has mounting holes installed at the factory. Funny some of the holes do not line up with
the threaded openings. So, I had to
perform a little metal surgery to open access to those mounting points. The blue paint is Rust-Oleum to prevent the
adverse corrosive effects of assaulting metal with a gouge.
Day 160: Roof rack mounting supports are installed. Ready to install the main rails next.
One rail installed and secured.
Second rail and front cross bar installed.
Day 161: Cross rails installed to complete the roof
rack. Next task, order the decking.
Another task is to order the ladder and install it. Supplies in a pandemic era become scarce. Ladders are no exception. My morning routine included checking the web site for available ladder inventory in hopes of finally placing the order. This routine went on for a long while.
Yet still more to come..
